Gentlemen may prefer blondes — but Megan Fox would now prefer to have her giant Marilyn Monroe tattoo erased from her right forearm.

The 25-year-old star confirmed to Italian fashion magazine Amica that she is in the process of removing (via laser treatments) the talked-about portrait of the Hollywood legend from her famous body.

“I’m removing it,” Fox says. “She was a negative person, she was disturbed, bipolar. I do not want to attract this kind of negative energy in my life.” (Indeed, the notoriously troubled Monroe died in 1962 at age 36 of a drug overdose.)

But the Transformers bombshell has plenty of other body art staying on — with over nine other tattoos, including a quote in honor of her Passion Play costar Mickey Rourke on her ribcage, a tribal tattoo on her left wrist and another quote on her shoulder.

“Who knows, maybe I’ll remove the others too, but the laser hurts.”

Fox also fesses up to removing, like so many young women before her, a naval piercing.

“I did it when I was 16-years-old because I was a fan of Britney Spears,” she explains. “The only time I tried to imitate someone else. But then I thought it was tacky and so I removed it when I turned 20.”

Megan Fox is diving headfirst into her role in the upcoming comedy This Is Forty.

The 25-year-old actress shared a behind-the-scenes photo with costars Chris O’Dowd, 31, and Jason Segel, 31, on Facebook Saturday, calling them “two very handsome, very tall, very funny men.”

Though Fox showed off her healthier new curves on Wednesday, she kept her figure hidden while posing underwater in the pool.

The Judd Apatow flick, which revolves around Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann’s characters from the 2007 smash Knocked Up, also stars Melissa McCarthy, John Lithgow, Maude Apatow and Ava Sambora.

“Megan is hilarious,” Rudd, 42, recently told E! News. “I don’t know if people don’t realize that, but she is really really funny.”

Fox was spotted earlier this week in Los Angeles filming This Is Forty, Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up sequel that revolves around Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann’s characters from the hit comedy.

Fox has a costarring role, but details about her character remain a mystery. During the outdoor shoot, she looked healthy and not as thin as she has been in the past. She wore what looked like brown leather lace-up shorts, a simple black tank top and brown leather and zipper heels.

“Megan is hilarious,” Rudd told me last night at the Nylon Guys and WeSC party at Gjelina restaurant in Venice. “I don’t know if people don’t realize that, but she is really really funny.”

Fox’s comedic chops aside, I’d be remiss not to tell you what Rudd had to say when I asked him about wearing a long hair wig for his latest movie, Our Idiot Brother (out Aug. 26).

“I used to have long hair when I was 18 until about 22,” he said. “It wasn’t a hippie thing. I was hoping to look like Michael Hutchence from INXS. I pretty much didn’t cut my hair for four years.”

Almost everyone can agree that Megan Fox has been going through a rough patch recently. Whether she’s being accused of having excessive plastic surgery done or being fired for comparing her boss to Hitler, this actress quickly transgressed from being the next big thing, to the next big flop. Sure, she hasn’t lost a lot of her dedicated male fans because they still worship her as an incredible sex symbol, but she is a far cry from role model material and has a dwindling acting career. Apparently, all of that is about to change for this Foxy lady. In a recent interview for the September issue of Amica Magazine, the actress claims to revamping her career and starting fresh — which includes making some changes in her life.

As part of her new career attempt, Fox is deciding to take smaller parts in smaller movies and trying to find her niche in the comedy/rom-com/drama family. It may be hard to picture the seduction queen busting out jokes, but she seems to be making strides into the humorous realm by rubbing elbows with the likes of Jason Segel and Paul Rudd in an upcoming film titled This Is Forty. Who knows, she may turn out to be a comic genius and surprise us all. Along with this new and improved Megan, she’s also deciding to ditch some of her body art that has graced her stunning figure. In regards to her Marilyn Monroe tattoo, Fox tells the magazine that “I’m removing it. It is a negative character, as she suffered from personality disorders and was bipolar. I do not want to attract this kind of negative energy in my life.” So, in the words of Elton John — goodbye Norma Jean.

The actress also seems to be looking a lot healthier these days and has reportedly gained 10 pounds, which looks great on her. While on her strict vegan diet, she appeared to look a little skeletal, but now that she’s back to eating more like a normal human she’s filled out and is back to looking gorgeous.

We don’t know too much about Judd Apatow’s “Knocked Up” spin-off movie project, other than the fact that it centers around lovable/slightly dysfunctional couple Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann), a few years after the events that occur in the Katherine Heigl, Seth Rogen pregnancy comedy. Also, if we know one thing about Apatow comedies, it is more than likely that a slew of famous faces will appear in the film, be it in a supporting or cameo role.
Apatow has been cagey about revealing any more casting or cameo details, but one interesting addition that was actually announced back in March is Megan Fox, and although we don’t yet know who she plays in the film, star Leslie Mann assured us that she is a welcome addition to the cast.

“Megan Fox is so funny,” she told us Monday night at the Los Angeles premiere of “The Change-Up.” “She’s hilarious. You wouldn’t, I don’t know if other people [expect it], but I think she’s really funny, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.”

So who does she play in the film?

“I can’t say that part,” she said with a smile, backing up her husband’s comments earlier this year regarding spoilers.

“The rest is a secret because it doesn’t come out until 2012 and if you already knew what it was about for a year and a half, you wouldn’t even want to see it,” he told us. “There will be people who are really interesting in the movie,” he teased. “And some familiar people who are in the movie.”

That’s one way to silence your critics! Proving she’s naturally beautiful, Megan Fox uploaded a series of photos to her official Facebook page Thursday. Filed in the album “Things You Can’t Do With Your Face When You Have Botox,” the Jonah Hex actress furrows her brow and points out naturally occurring lines in her forehead.

In June 2010, Fox told Allure magazine that she would never get cosmetic enhancements to improve her looks. “My lips are my lips,” she said, denying the use of Botox to create her perfect pout.

“I would encourage anyone to first speak with a therapist, to try and figure out where this want comes from, because a lot of times it’s not related to your teeth or your nose or your chin,” Fox added. “The surgery is not going to alleviate that insecurity for you.” Fox, 25, isn’t the first celebrity to use Facebook to dispel rumors about cosmetic enhancements. Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher posted similar pictures in August 2010 to prove that she’s filler-free.

Shia LaBeouf bragged about hooking up with Megan Fox while they filmed the first two Transformers, earning him serious cool points with guys everywhere. One person that doesn’t think it’s cool? Fox’s husband, Brian Austin Green.

Shia LaBeouf apparently couldn’t help himself when asked by Details if he hooked up with former Transformers co-star Megan Fox.

“Look, you’re on the set for six months, with someone who’s rooting to be attracted to you, and you’re rooting to be attracted to them. I never understood the separation of work and life in that situation. But the time I spent with Megan was our own thing, and I think you can see the chemistry onscreen,” he said.

And when asked if she was with her now-husband, Brian Austin Green, when they hooked up, he may have realized the seriousness of his confession as he stumbled over his words, saying, “I don’t know, man,” 12 times.

As it turns out, Fox and Green were on a break when she hooked up with Shia (they married June 2010) but his confession has reportedly caused some conflict in their marriage.

“Megan’s been in tears, and is apologizing to Brian — even though technically she didn’t do anything wrong since they were on a break… They are so angry at Shia,” a source tells OK Magazine.

No word if Shia has apologized directly to Fox, however, he told Access Hollywood he is learning to keep his mouth shut. “I just turned 25,” Shia said. “And I’m learning how to edit myself and say ‘no comment’ now.”

Shia is back in theaters for Transformers: Dark of the Moon with Fox’s replacement, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

It’s a delicious conspiracy theory, isn’t it? We imagine a smoky back room, filled with studio execs. They take a look at the final cut of Dark of the Moon, wail and moan as their eyes bleed out of their sockets, and then decide to market the whole mess by trashing franchise refugee Megan Fox.

So is this what happened? I asked around:

Likely, not.

Yes, by many accounts, this is not a good movie, even by blockbuster-sequel standards. It bows this week—but it’s gotten a stinky 39 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. CNN is calling it “lousy,” Rolling Stone warns that viewers run the risk of “dying a little inside,” and my buddy Garth Franklin at Dark Horizons went so far as to say that watching the film was like “being urinated upon.” The biggest complaint: that despite all the exploding robots, the story is just empty. There is no there, there.

Still, it’s unlikely that the studio behind the film orchestrated its marketing campaign around trashing Megan Fox. Publicists are evil, but they’re not, I am told, that evil.

“I think that it’s a little too much of a conspiracy theory,” posits Rachel Hill, a former personal publicist and the current director of marketing at American World Pictures, which is about to shoot a new Danny Glover film.

“I doubt that anything like that would be formally approved by any studio,” Scott Donaton of the marketing group Ensemble agrees.

That said, don’t be shocked if the movie’s principle star, Shia LaBeouf, did think through his Fox-trashing in advance, Hill says.

“Did Shia have to answer those questions about him and Megan Fox?” Hill notes. “Was it necessary? Maybe he did it to raise his profile a bit.

“I’ve had clients in the past who, when scandals have come out, we didn’t deny things. In fact we kept the scandal going because it kept our clients in the public eye.”

Now that’s a fun conspiracy theory.

Shia LaBeouf admits that he hooked up with Megan Fox while making the Transformers films — and he’s not sure whether or not his sexy costar was attached at the time to then-boyfriend Brian Austin Green, now her husband.

Nodding in the affirmative about a hookup with Fox, LaBeouf explains in a new Details mag interview, “Look, you’re on the set for six months, with someone who’s rooting to be attracted to you, and you’re rooting to be attracted to them.”

Without giving specific dates or details, the 25-year-old actor (now dating Hollywood stylist Karolyn Pho) continues of the fling: “I never understood the separation of work and life in that situation. But the time I spent with Megan was our own thing, and I think you can see the chemistry onscreen.”

When Details asks him about Fox’s status at the time with Green, he sputters. “I don’t know, man. I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know,” he says, repeating “I don’t know” eight more times. “It was what it was.”

Fox, 25, wed on-and-off beau Green one year ago in Hawaii. She was famously replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Transformers: Dark of the Moon, out next month. (Director Michael Bay and LaBeouf recently confirmed that Fox’s controversial comments about Bay, comparing him to Hitler, got her dropped from the franchise — at the direct order of executive producer Steven Spielberg.)

LaBeouf also opens up about other failed romantic entanglements. His one date with Hilary Duff was “probably the worst date either of us have ever had.”

He also fesses up to “philandering around” with former co-star Isabel Lucas. “It was sort of disastrous…Neither one of us, I think, were in love. Just sort of experimenting or whatever.”

On his ex-girlfriend Carey Mulligan, with whom he parted ways in October 2010: “I still love her…I think she’s a fu**ing awesome person and an incredible actress. We’re still pals. I wouldn’t take any of it back, and I don’t think she would either. It just ran its course.”

Megan Fox famously feuded with Transformers director Michael Bay, once saying, “He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is.”

Fox’s former costar Shia LaBeouf explains the actress, 25, struggled with the “sex-driven role” and bristled under suddenly being “told she was the sexiest woman in America.”

“She had a hard time accepting it,” LaBeouf, 24, tells the Los Angeles Times. “Mike films women in a way that appeals to a 16-year-old’s sexuality. It’s summer. It’s Michael’s style.”

LaBeouf, who admits Bay “lacks tact,” adds, “When Mike would ask [Fox] to do specific things, there was no time for fluffy talk. We’re on the run.”

But LaBeouf says it’s a different story for Rosie Huntington-Whitley, Fox’s replacement in the third installment of the action-packed flick.

“Rosie comes with this Victoria’s Secret background and she’s comfortable with it,” he says. “So she can get down with Mike’s way of working, and it makes the whole set vibe very different.”

According to THR, Megan will be joining Jon Hamm, Adam Scott, Jennifer Westfeldt and Kristen Wiig in the upcoming rom-com “Friends With Kids.” The project follows a pair of thirtysomething best friends who come up with a way to bypass the stress of having kids by having a child with each other, and then proceed to date other people. Megan will play a girl who Adam dates after he and Jennifer have a child.

Jon and Kristen will play a second couple in the film, and a third couple has yet to be cast. It is unclear if these couples will follow a similar route as Adam and Jennifer’s friends-with-kids relationship, or if they will be couples who have kids and are dealing with the subsequent drama, but we’re hoping for the power couple of Jon Hamm and Kristen Wiig that it’s the latter.

“It’s a very literate script and when Jen met with her, she thought Megan was spot on. When [Megan] picks the right part, she has tremendous value,” Cinetic Media’s John Sloss, who is handling sales, told THR.

Megan also has the upcoming flick “Passion Play,” which recently made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival and was purchased by Image Entertainment. And, of course, she recently got hitched to her longtime boyfriend Brian Austin Green, so it looks like things are turning in Megan’s favor again.
